    Seung-Ho Yu教授做客化院讲堂

        (通讯员:向小月)9月8日下午,韩国高丽大学Seung-Ho Yu教授应邀做客麻豆 “化院讲堂”,以“Mechanistic Insights for Designing Rechargeable Battery Electrodes”为题作精彩学术报告,吸引众多师生到场聆听交流,现场学术氛围热烈。院长曹菲菲教授主持报告会。


          金属锂负极反应路径复杂且动态多变,为其实际应用带来巨大挑战。针对该难题,Yu教授介绍团队利用原位X射线显微技术,实时观测电池工作状态下电极材料的形貌演变,直接捕获了动态的结构与组分变化,揭示了电池性能调控及衰减失效的内在机理。相关研究成果将助力设计更高效、更稳定可靠的下一代储能系统。

    在互动交流环节,同学们踊跃发言,就专业科研问题、韩国留学问题、中韩文化差异等话题积极提问。Yu教授与其同行的两位韩国学生耐心细致地逐一解答,与在场师生开展了充分、深入的对话交流。本次学术报告为师生搭建起高质量的学术文化交流平台。

    Prof. Seung-Ho Yu is a distinguished professor of Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Korea University. He is among the World 2% Researchers. He received BS, and PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Seoul National University in 2008 and 2013. He served as a postdoctoral associate at Cornell University from 2015 to 2019. His research focuses on mechanistic studies of rechargeable battery electrodes using operando synchrotron X-ray based methods, and in-situ/cryogenic electron microscopy. He is also interested in designing and developing new materials at the nanoscale level to be applied to electrochemical devices. These include but are not restrained to electrodes in secondary batteries and electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction in fuel cells.
